HorseMarket.auction is an initiative of a group of horse traders and horse enthusiasts who share one vision: bringing the traditional horse market back in a modern, accessible and transparent way.
In the past, traders, breeders and horse lovers gathered at well-known horse markets such as Utrecht, where horses were viewed, discussed, bought and sold. The horse market was the place where supply and demand came together.
Those days are back.
But in a way that fits today's world.
Where horses were once transported from market to market to be shown to potential buyers, we have turned the process around.
Through HorseMarket.auction, buyers and sellers meet online. Thanks to videos, photos, available veterinary information and optional viewings by appointment, interested buyers can form a clear impression of a horse or pony before placing a bid.
As a result, horses do not need to be transported unnecessarily to central locations and can remain in their familiar environment until they are actually sold.
This is not only more efficient for buyers and sellers, but also contributes to the welfare of the horse.

HorseMarket.auction does not try to present every horse as perfect.
Just like at traditional horse markets, horses may differ in age, training level, veterinary history and intended use.
That is why we believe it is important that buyers receive as much information as possible before bidding, allowing them to make their own informed decision.
A small scar, an old wound, a clinical remark or a radiographic finding may occur. Whenever such information is known, it will be disclosed.
We believe honest information leads to realistic expectations, satisfied buyers and successful horse trading.
To provide clarity, we work with different categories.
These horses have undergone both a clinical examination and radiographic examination (X-rays).
A veterinary report is available, including the veterinarian's conclusion.
These horses are most comparable to horses commonly offered at traditional sport horse auctions.
These horses have undergone a clinical examination by a veterinarian, but no X-rays are available.
This may be due to the horse's age or because the seller chose not to have radiographs taken.
The following statement will be displayed:
No X-Rays Available
The seller states that this horse has never undergone a radiographic examination. Any clinical remarks can be found in the veterinarian's clinical report.
These horses are offered in the same condition in which they were originally purchased by the current owner or trader.
In many cases, these horses were purchased by traders, breeders or professionals based on their own assessment.
No current X-rays are available.
The horse has undergone a clinical examination by a veterinarian and any remarks are listed in the clinical report.
The following statement will be displayed:
As Is / Where Is
The seller states that this horse was originally purchased on an "as is / where is" basis and is offered in the same manner. No current X-rays are available. Any clinical remarks are stated in the veterinarian's clinical report.
